Privacy Policy
Effective August 1, 2026
The short version: RFRMD Word Labs LLC — the company behind SchriftOhr —
does not collect or receive your data. None of it.
SchriftOhr is made by RFRMD Word Labs LLC, a Texas company, which is the party
responsible for this policy.
What SchriftOhr does with your information
Nothing is sent to us. SchriftOhr has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking,
no ads, and no servers of ours. Specifically:
- Your books (EPUB, PDF, Markdown, and text files) are read and
spoken on your device. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- If you sign in to iCloud, the things the app syncs so your
devices agree — copies of books you keep in the library, reading positions,
bookmarks and highlights, notebook entries, character casts, pronunciations you
teach, app preferences, and the names of your devices (so a book can say
"Chapter 11 · iPhone") — are stored in your own iCloud account. That
storage belongs to you and is governed by
Apple's privacy policy; we cannot
see it. Signed out, all of it stays on the device.
- Audiobooks you export are written where you choose to save them.
- Usage & battery reports are optional, off by default, gathered by the
system on your device, and stay there. The only way one leaves the device is if you press
Share and send it somewhere yourself.
The one thing that touches the network
If you choose the neural voice, the app downloads its open-source voice model once
from the model's public host. Like any download, the host sees an ordinary network
request from your device — including an IP address — and nothing more; nothing about
you or your books goes the other way. After the download, speech works fully
offline.
Children
SchriftOhr sends us no data about anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the change will be posted on this page with a new
effective date. Since the app collects nothing, we don't expect it to change much.
