Privacy Policy
Effective July 11, 2026
The short version: SchriftOhr collects no data. None.
What SchriftOhr does with your information
Nothing leaves your device. SchriftOhr has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking,
no ads, and no servers of ours. Specifically:
- Your books (EPUB, PDF, Markdown, and text files) are read and
spoken on your device. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- Your reading position, markers, and settings are stored on your
device.
- Your library — copies of books you choose to keep — is stored on
your device, or in your own iCloud account if you are signed in, so it syncs
between your devices. That storage belongs to you and is governed by
Apple's privacy policy; we cannot
see it.
- Audiobooks you export are written where you choose to save them.
- Usage & battery reports are optional, off by default, gathered by the
system on your device, and stay there. The only way one leaves the device is if you press
Share and send it somewhere yourself.
The one thing that touches the network
If you choose the neural voice, the app downloads its open-source voice model once
from the model's public host. That download is the model coming to your
device; nothing about you or your books goes the other way. After the download,
speech works fully offline.
Children
SchriftOhr collects no data from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the change will be posted on this page with a new
effective date. Since the app collects nothing, we don't expect it to change much.
